Good books about pelvic pain?

Postby josy » Sun Apr 18, 2010 1:46 pm

Hello,

I'm currently searching for good books about pelvic pain and especially about trigger point therapy for pelvic pain.

I have already read:
- Amy Stein: Heal Pelvic Pain
- David Wise: Headache In The Pelvis

So please help me, which books about pelvic pain issues did you read and like?
Any recommendations are very welcome.

Thanks and take care,
josy.

I'm currently reading Ending Female Pain: A Woman's Manual, by Isa Herrerra, MSPT.

It's along the same lines as Heal Pelvic Pain, but seems to be a bit more in depth in regards to anatomy.

I don't have much of a review since I just started to get into it--sorry I can't be more helpful.

I have to add a book to the list, although it is not about pelvic pain.
Calluna mentioned it several times in her posts:
"Coping successfully with Pain" by Neville Shone.

This book has helped me more than a lot, I still pick it up from time to time. It's one of the best books I read since I have to deal with PN and pain. Thank you very much Calluna for mentioning it here on the forum.

I was just going to mention this book myself, although it is about chronic pain in general, and as Josy says, not specifically about pelvic pain.

Josy I am glad it has helped you - my psychologist suggested that I read it - so maybe we should be thanking her instead!
Symptoms began following pelvic reconstruction surgery in June 2009, diagnosed Nov 2009. Pain currently under control. Management programme includes Tramadol SR 300mg and Nortriptyline 10mg daily, acupuncture, TENS, CBT and NLP techniques. I am also using a CES unit and acupuncture press needles.
